The project concludes in April 2026 with a finissage that coincides with the CONCERT FOR WATER - a multidisciplinary production featuring music, performance, and poetry, staged in the NIROX amphitheatre, waterways, and surrounding parklands. This final event runs in parallel with an extensive symposium organised in partnership with the University of Pretoria, further deepening the project’s research and public engagement.

A number of other fluid, sound-based events will lead up to this final event, CONCERT FOR WATER.

Listen To Me is an innovative artistic project focused on creatively addressing the water issues in the Cradle of Humankind valley. In collaboration with Swiss musician and sound artist Christophe Fellay, this project employs artistic strategies to amplify the voice of water and its environment. By beginning with active listening, the project seeks to understand the needs and develop artistic methodologies to give water a voice, thereby fostering a dynamic and engaging sonic and musical dialogue.

Choreographer and dancer Thulisile Binda will enhance this dialogue with her physical and musical presence. The final performance will blend underwater recordings, amplified water percussion, music, dance, voice, and electronics. Additionally, it will feature artistic contributions from the valley's vibrant young artistic community by highlighting the often unseen and overlooked realities of the area.
