Raúl Mirlo (MX)
Raúl Mirlo (b. 1985) lives and works in Mexico City. He completed the SOMA Educational Program (2017, Mexico City) and holds a degree in Visual + Media Arts from CEDIM (2011, Monterrey). He attended a semiotics workshop at BAU (2009, Barcelona) and has participated in various workshops and programs with specialists such as Marwa Arsanios, Daniel Blanga-Gubbay, Zeynep Öz, María Virgina Jaua, and Otobong Nkanga.
His solo exhibitions include: En la medida del error. Fundación Casa Wabi (2021, Mexico City); Tacet. ESMDM (2020, Monterrey); What does this room need? Galería Progreso (2018, Mexico City); Tableau (or the difference in between one red color and another red color is the distance in between them II). INSTINC (2017, Singapore); Shaheen. Abu Dhabi Arthub (2015, Abu Dhabi); Eleutherios. Armenian Center of Contemporary and Experimental Art (2013, Yerevan).
Mirlo has completed several art residencies, including: NIROX (2025, South Africa); Casa Nano (2024, Tokyo); Fundación Casa Wabi (2019, Mexico); INSTINC (2017, Singapore); Abu Dhabi Arthub (2015, United Arab Emirates); ECAIR (2013, Malaysia); and ACOSS (2013, Armenia).
He was awarded the PECDA grant (2025), the FONCA Young Creators Grant (2018–2019) in the Alternative Media category and has received the FONCA Special Support Program (2017) and the FINANCIARTE program grant through CONARTE (2024, 2019, 2018, 2014, and 2013).
